Last updated: September 14, 2026. TypingSetu is committed to transparent, privacy-first typing education without advertising, tracking scripts, or server-side keystroke logging.
1. 100% Local Storage on Your Device
When you take typing tests or exam simulations on TypingSetu, all your performance metrics (WPM, accuracy, character-level mistake summaries, and timestamps) are saved exclusively in your browser’s local storage (`localStorage`).
We do not transmit your test records, typed text, or mistake history to any remote server or cloud database.
2. No Account or Registration Required
You never need to create an account, log in with social providers, or provide your name, email address, or phone number to use any feature of TypingSetu.
3. Data Stored Locally
The only information stored on your local browser is:
- Test timestamp and duration (e.g. 60 seconds).
- Calculated Gross and Net WPM, Accuracy, and CPM.
- Character mistake frequency map (to generate targeted weakness drills).
- Completed training plan step identifiers.
We do not store individual raw keystrokes or timestamps between keystrokes.
4. How to Erase Your Stored Data
You have complete ownership and control of your data at all times. You can permanently erase all stored sessions and diagnostic history at any time by:
- Navigating to the Progress Dashboard.
- Clicking the "Clear Data" button in the upper-right corner.
- Confirming the prompt to wipe your local cache.
Clearing your browser cache or cookies also erases this storage automatically.
5. Cookies & Third-Party Trackers
TypingSetu does not use marketing cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral advertising networks.
