Hindi Typing Practice for Beginners: Step-by-Step Daily Improvement Plan

1. Ergonomics & Posture Before You Begin

Before touching the keyboard, correct your physical setup:

  • Sit upright with your feet flat on the floor and your back supported.
  • Keep your elbows at an approximately 90-degree angle level with your desk surface.
  • Keep your eyes level with the top third of your computer monitor to prevent neck strain.
  • Never look down at the keys: Rely strictly on the tactile bumps on the F and J keys to orient your hands.

Hindi Devanagari contains frequent conjuncts (संयुक्ताक्षर). Spend week 3 mastering the Halant sequence ():

  • R-forms: प्रकाश, प्रथम, राष्ट्रीय, धर्म, कर्म, सूर्य
  • Ksh, Tra, Gya: रक्षा, पत्र, विज्ञान, क्षत्रिय, ज्ञान
  • Double letters: उत्तर, दिल्ली, पत्ता, बच्चा, सच्चा, प्रसन्न

5. Phase 4 (Days 23–30): Timed Paragraphs & Exam Prep

In the final week, transition to full-length editorial and governmental Hindi passages:

  • Take 2-minute and 5-minute timed tests daily on TypingSetu.
